"The underwater action-adventure sees the trio discover the sunken wreckage of a plane off the Florida coast which contains illegal cargo. The divers then find themselves involved with a dangerous drug lord." Shooting begins in January. Now on with the news, there's more confusion about Ashley Scott being in 'Blade: Trinity'. Recently there were reports such as these. From Cinescape Online: Jessica Biel, soon to grace the silver screen in the remake of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, will star in BLADE: TRINITY. Ashley Scott (BIRDS OF PREY) has been rumored to be in the running for the role just last week but, alas, 'twas not to be. But is she really out or is she still in the film? Biel may have won the role of Abigail Whistler, but why is Ashley still listed in the cast on sites such as these ( Movies.com, UpcomingHorrorMovies.com, ComingSoon.net ). 411Mainia reports: Biel will play Abigail, the daughter of Whistler (Kris Kristofferson) who inherits the vampire-slaying duties that once belonged to Blade (Wesley Snipes). Ryan Reynolds and Ashley Scott are also likely to join the cast. And CountingDown.com says this after the annoucment of Beil's role: Is this the role that was being considered for Ashley Scott? Or maybe even the part that Jessica Simpson was reportedly attached to? Hard to know. We'll keep you posted! So at this point the reports are confusing and I can't say for sure if she's in or out. Maybe they'll be some official word soon to clear up all this. 8.27.2003:: This is disappointing news to report. Ashley Scott will NOT be in 'Blade 3'. It seems the woman who played Mary on the WB's 7th Heaven got the part. Jessica Biel, who stars in New Line Cinema's upcoming remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, has signed to star in the studio's Blade: Trinity. I'll keep an eye out for further conformation. Also, if you're wondering the character Ashley is up for is named Abigail Whistler, apparrently the daughter of Blade's mentor. Here's some more info on the character Ashley might be playing: Abigail Whistler: A beautiful Caucasian woman in her 20s, Abigail is “cut like an Olympic athlete” and equipped with a walking arsenal of vampire-fighting weapons. Abigail is the daughter of Blade’s old partner Whistler (played by Kristofferson), and, like him, she’s an accomplished, deadly vampire hunter who lives and works with the Nightstalkers. Described in the casting notes as “determined, ruthless and unique (she likes to listen to her own music playlists on an MP3 player as she fights),” Abigail saw her whole family destroyed by vampires and, as she puts it in the film’s script, “Ever since I can remember I’ve had this knife of sadness in my heart. No, the WB isn't bringing back 'Birds of Prey', but Ashley may get a chance to play a female vampire hunter on the big screen. from: comingsoon.net Ryan Reynolds is in talks to join Wesley Snipes in Blade: Trinity, for writer/director David Goyer at New Line. Reynolds will play Hannibal, a vampire hunter. The film calls for the Hannibal character to team closely with a female vampire hunter. New Line is reportedly circling Ashley Scott, who starred in the series Birds of Prey and recently wrapped the Walking Tall remake. (thanks for the tip Richard) Note, this role has yet to be made final so I'll keep an eye out for further news on it. 8.13.2003:: If you were wondering if it was worth your time and money to see 'S.W.A.T.', the numbers seem to indicate you should. It is currently #1 at the box office. But if you're going for Ashley, her part in it is rather small. We also now have a release date for 'Walking Tall'. comingsoon.net list the release date for the film as April 16, 2004. If we don't have the image and I have to buy a magazine to scan it, it might take me a while; if you send me to a webpage or submit an image, it might also take me a while. Remember, not everyone has DSL and is able to sit in front of an internet connection 24 hours a day. I have about two hours a day on the week and it's generally spent answering e-mail. Sending me multiple e-mails about the same image, link or scan within at least a week's time not only annoys me, but is pointless. Valentin) Ashley Scott and Kristen Wilson have nabbed the female leads in MGM's updated version of the 1973 actioner Walking Tall for director Kevin Bray and Hyde Park Entertainment, says The Hollywood Reporter. Shooting is scheduled to start in July. The film centers on a Tennessee sheriff (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) and his one-man mission to remove corruption from his county. Neal McDonough also stars as Hamilton, the main nemesis to Johnson's character and the man at the center of the corruption. Scott will play the sheriff's love interest in the small town, and Wilson will play his sister. David Klass wrote the update of the project. Scott is best known for her role on the short-lived WB Network series Birds of Prey. She recently completed a role in Columbia Pictures' S.W.A.T. and the indie horror film Trespassing. Nguyen I have more info on Ashley Scott's new Film, "Trespassing" Estella Warren (Kangaroo Jack) and Ashley Scott (Birds of Prey) have teamed to star in the horror film Trespassing for H.S.I. Entertainment/Samy Boy Pictures. The Hollywood Reporter says James Merendino is directing the project from his own script. The film, which is shooting in New Orleans, centers on a graduate student (Daniel Gillies) preparing his thesis on mythology who leads his friends on a research expedition to an old plantation estate on the outskirts of the Big Easy. The site is reputed to mysteriously cause madness and death to all who enter it. Warren and Scott play Gillies' friends who go along for the expedition. So I neglected to mention the caps for Birds of Prey were updated to 'Nature of the Beast' though I'm sure regular visitors discovered it. And Dark Angel meets Birds of Prey in the latest addition to the wallpaper gallery. Also, will reunion be the end? It seems the last two episodes of "Birds of Prey" are hanging in limbo at the momment since Angel is due to begin taking over wednesdays on January 15 (the week after this week's 2 hours of birds) (see Gotham Clock Tower for this tidbit). Don't forget about the January 4th deadline for the birds of prey project.
