ASHLEY SCOTT

She's
the kind of girl you dream of meeting on a beach somewhere, blonde and
tallish, with mesmerising legs and a Southern belle's smile that could
deep-fry the polar ice cap. Ashley Scott, twenty-eight, started out as
a model in her native Charleston, South Carolina, travelling between
runways in Europe before landing a tiny role as Gigolo Jane in Steven
Spielberg's A.I.: Artificial Intelligence, a role that
persuaded more than a few of us that she belonged in moving pictures.
You've seen her alongside Jessica Alba in television's Dark Angel, and maybe, just maybe, beside The Rock in Walking Tall, in which she played a former stripper with - what else? - a heart of gold. Now, with her starring role in Into the Blue, a
foxy-underwater-treasure-hunters-meet-a-gang-of-cranky-drug-runners
flick also featuring Jessica Alba and filmed in the Bahamas, she's
bound to become an Alba-esque starlet in her own right. Toro's
Chris Nuttall-Smith recently caught up with Ashley Scott to discuss the
perils of swimming with sharks, catfights, and introducing Ashton
Kutcher to your mom.
Are there any scenes in Into the Blue where you actually wear anything besides a bikini?
Not really.
Come on, there's got to be at least one, isn't there?
It's
like a big porno. I was watching it the other day and I couldn't
believe it - well, not 'porno.' I shouldn't say that. It's more like a
big, we'll say Maxim ad, how's that? We're all in the water most of the time and on the boat. That's what you do in the Bahamas.
