Okay, do you really need to know what Into the Blue is about?
You've got hot babes in bikinis swimming around underwater, emerging
with glistening suntanned bodies. It could be the sequel to Schindler's List and we'd be there.
And we've got both of those babes for you here: Jessica Alba and
Ashley Scott. These are two very different types of hotties. Alba takes
everything with thought and reflection while Scott is the playful type.
Both are ultimately stunning in person -- Alba with her glowing cheeks
towering over you from her high-heeled stature and Scott swirling her
long, blonde hair over alternating shoulders.
But Alba needs to be told she's pretty and Scott damn well knows she's got it.
Now, with a movie as deep and sophisticated as Into the Blue,
we had some important, probing questions that needed to be
answered.Bikini bodies? Breath Holding? Wardrobe Malfunction? Here's
what the ladies had to say.
Beer.com: When did you first realize you looked good in a bikini?
Jessica Alba: I never did, to be honest with you,
and I still don't. I'm quite critical of my own appearance, but I had
to just think the way that the character did. She just doesn't care.
She's not sitting there looking at her body. She's just working and she
lives in the Bahamas and if she didn't wear a bikini, it'd be weird
unless she wore a one-piece, but young girls don't wear one-pieces.
B: Doesn't it tell you something that they're using your body to sell the movie?
JA: They airbrush in things like that all day whether it was my body or someone else's. It wouldn't really matter.
B: And Ashley, when did you realize you look good in a bikini?
Ashley Scott: That's a very interesting question.
Well, I think my first bikini, I was four and it was polka dotted and I
had a big belly and I looked dashing.
B: Now, Jessica's on the poster, but you're hot too. What's up with that?
AS: Thank you. I appreciate that. She's got bigger
boobs. I'm joking. Well, Paul's actually got bigger boobs than me.
Yeah, thank you, that was sweet of you.
B: How long could you hold your breath for?
JA: I think that by the end of the movie they were
doing this close-up shot of us and I think that I did one take that was
a minute and 20 seconds. So literally went down into the plane from the
surface… went all the way to the back… and came all the way back
up… and I stopped and did stuff inside the plane where they had
cameras set up.
AS: You know who really learned and really
practiced? Scott Caan. He practiced with the divers and learned and
took it on. I didn't find it that appealing to be honest with you. I
enjoyed having air down there. He stayed down there for a while. And
there's this whole system. There's breathing above water and then the
way you kick. It'd probably be a neat thing to learn.
B: Okay, doesn't makeup wash off in the water?
JA: There was no makeup. None of us had makeup on.
I mean, thank God I had pigment. My dad is good for the dark skin gene
and I got very, very dark. Paul got really, really dark and so did
Scott. Ashley would sort of get a little bit dark and then have to wear
a lot of sunscreen basically.
B: Were there any wardrobe malfunctions with your skimpy bikinis?
AS: That's a malfunction in itself. You're kind of
just hoping everything fit. You're a girl, it's not a lot of coverage
and you're swimming around. I'm hoping everything stayed put.
JA: When you're in the water in a bathing suit, it
stretches and so everything sort of gets bigger and they just had to
take everything in after a while especially when we got cold. So I
think that when you get cold, we all sort of lost a little bit of
weight just burning some calories while trying to stay warm towards the
end of the movie.
B: You both played superheroes. Who could kick whose ass?
JA: I wouldn't compare Ashley and I. I've had a lot more training than she has. [Laughs] But she is awesome. She did Birds of Prey and she did Dark Angel.
AS: Oh, the Huntress definitely could kick her ass
I think. I could fly. She wasn't really a superhero; she was just a
genetic [mutation.] Oh, but she was in Fantastic Four. Where was I this summer? I'm gonna favour myself because I look hot in a bikini.
JA: I really appreciated as a woman, first of all,
having another girl there to be girlie with because we were the only
girls there with all boys. The crew was also all boys. Also, she's just
really comfortable with her body and so that's another thing that
helped me. She would throw a bikini on and walk around. Meanwhile,
every time the camera shut off I was covering myself in a towel and
hating my life and calling my mom and going, "I can't do this! I hate
this movie!"
AS: Oh, she's got a great body. It's crazy.
Everybody's got their thing. I've got my thing, she has hers. Everybody
has their insecurities in certain areas of their bod. But girl, come
on! She's a knockout. She doesn't have anything to worry about.
